This is the genuine Nokta replaceable coil unit, part number 17000167, for the PulseDive Series: a 20 cm (8") yellow scuba coil supplied with its coil cover. It is a coil unit, not a detector — all of the pulse induction electronics live in the PulseDive body, and this part simply locks onto it. Fitting takes seconds: align the red marks, push the coil on and twist until it clicks. No tools, no wiring, nothing to route. Two kinds of buyer need it. Owners of a PulseDive Pointer use it as the upgrade that converts the handheld probe into the full-length PulseDive Scuba Detector, gaining the wider sweep and greater reach of an 8" coil over the 14 cm (5.5") pointer probe. Owners of a Scuba Detector buy it as a spare, because a coil dragged over reef, rock and shingle is the part that wears first. In either case the assembled detector is rated for the same water use as before — Nokta rates the PulseDive to 60 m (200 ft) — but coils must only ever be changed on dry land with the unit switched off, and the O-ring must be seated correctly before the detector goes back in the water.

Does this include the PulseDive detector itself?
No. You receive the 20 cm (8") scuba coil unit and its coil cover only. It needs an existing PulseDive body — Pointer, Scuba Detector or 2-in-1 Set — in order to work.
Will it turn my PulseDive Pointer into the scuba version?
Yes. The scuba coil unit carries its own stem, so fitting it to the Pointer body gives you the full 45 cm PulseDive Scuba Detector — exactly how the factory 2-in-1 set works. Align the red marks, push, and twist until it clicks.
Does the 8" coil find gold or jewellery deeper than the 5.5" one?
In general a larger pulse induction coil sweeps a wider path and reaches somewhat further on medium and larger targets, while the 14 cm (5.5") probe is better for pinpointing in tight spots and on very small items. Nokta publishes no depth figure for either coil, so treat any centimetre claim quoted by a reseller as marketing rather than a specification.
Can I swap coils while I am in the water?
No. Nokta's manual is explicit that the coil must never be detached or changed underwater. Do it on dry land with the detector switched off, then check that the coil O-ring is seated snugly — and that the battery compartment cover and its O-ring are tight — before the unit goes back in.
