Gold Detectors · Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia's gold sits in the Arabian Shield, the Precambrian basement that forms the western third of the Kingdom from the Hijaz down through Asir. It is the same Arabian-Nubian Shield that hosts Egypt's Eastern Desert deposits, split by the opening of the Red Sea, and it has been worked for a very long time: Mahd adh Dhahab — the Cradle of Gold — was mined in antiquity and is a producing mine today, alongside modern operations such as Ad Duwayhi, Bulghah and Sukhaybarat.

For anyone using a detector, the Shield presents a fairly consistent picture. Gold is hosted in quartz veins and shear zones cutting volcanic-arc and granitic rock, with eluvial and shallow alluvial gold shed into the wadis draining them. Cover is thin compared with West Africa, hard rock is close to surface, and old workings — some of them genuinely ancient — mark much of the prospective ground. Mineralisation varies: many wadis run quiet enough for a sensitive VLF to do excellent work, while zones of ironstone and hot rock near the veins will unsettle anything without strong ground balance.

In practice this favours a high-frequency VLF such as the Minelab Gold Monster 1000 or Garrett Goldmaster 24K for the small quartz-hosted gold that dominates near outcrop and old workings, with a pulse-induction or ZVT detector — GPX series, GPZ 7000, Garrett Axiom — for deeper wadi fill and heavily mineralised zones. Heat management matters as much as the machine: summer fieldwork in the Shield is genuinely dangerous, and weight, battery life and shade discipline decide how long you can work.

We are two hours away by air, and Saudi Arabia is one of our quicker destinations. We ship genuine, warranty-backed Minelab and Garrett equipment from Dubai to the Kingdom, and advise in Arabic or English. Message us on WhatsApp with the area you work and we will recommend on the ground rather than on the price list.

How to choose

  • Shield ground is thin cover over hard rock with small quartz-hosted gold near outcrop — a sensitive high-frequency VLF such as the Gold Monster 1000 or Goldmaster 24K is the right first machine far more often than a top-end deep-seeker.
  • Step up to pulse-induction or ZVT — GPX series, GPZ 7000 or Garrett Axiom — for deeper wadi fill and the ironstone zones near vein systems where a VLF becomes unusable.
  • Old workings mark prospective ground but also fill it with historic and modern metal. Good discrimination and a smaller coil will save you hours of digging scrap around them.
  • Treat summer heat as a design constraint, not an inconvenience. Machine weight, battery life and a proper harness decide how long you can safely stay out in the Shield between May and September.
  • A second coil is often a better upgrade than a bigger machine. Wadi flats reward a large coil for coverage; vein outcrops and old workings are far easier with a small one, and most of our machines take both.
  • Delivery from Dubai is quick and we can advise in Arabic or English. Message us with the area you will work and we will recommend on the ground rather than on the price list.

Frequently asked questions

Do you deliver to Saudi Arabia, and how fast?
Yes, and the Kingdom is one of our quicker destinations — we are a short flight from Riyadh and Jeddah, and shipments from Dubai to Saudi Arabia typically clear faster than to most of the markets we serve. We deliver to Riyadh, Jeddah, Makkah, Madinah, Dammam and regional cities. Message us on WhatsApp in Arabic or English with your city and the model you want; we will confirm stock, total price and a realistic delivery window before you commit.
Which detector suits the Arabian Shield?
For most of it, a high-frequency VLF. Shield gold is largely small and quartz-hosted under thin cover near outcrops and old workings, and the Minelab Gold Monster 1000 or Garrett Goldmaster 24K is genuinely well matched to that — at a fraction of the cost of a flagship machine. Where you work deeper wadi fill, or ironstone zones near the veins that make a VLF chatter, a GPX, GPZ 7000 or Garrett Axiom is the right answer. Tell us the area and we will recommend on the ground rather than the price.
Can I get support and spares in the Kingdom?
We support what we sell, and Saudi Arabia is close enough that turnaround is quick. Coils, batteries, chargers and cables are the parts that actually wear, and we keep them for the machines in our range. Every unit carries the manufacturer's warranty, and if something goes wrong we will tell you straight whether it is a warranty claim or a part to replace. You can reach us on WhatsApp in Arabic or English, before and after the sale.
How do I know the detector is genuine and not a copy?
Check the sealed box, the serial number, and whether the warranty is the manufacturer's or only the seller's. Copies of popular gold detectors circulate widely across this region and are often priced close enough to genuine stock to be convincing. We are an authorised reseller in Dubai selling brand-new, sealed units with manufacturer warranty, and we will show you all three before despatch. If you are unsure about a machine offered to you elsewhere, send us photographs and we will give you an honest opinion, whether or not you buy from us.
Can I come to Dubai and buy in person instead?
Many of our Saudi customers do exactly that. Our shop is on Baniyas Road in Deira, minutes from the Gold Souk, and a short flight from Riyadh or Jeddah. You can handle the machines, hear them run, compare models side by side and take the unit home with you, with export paperwork prepared. Cards are accepted in the shop. Message us before you travel and we will confirm the models you want are in stock and set them aside.
