What is the difference between VLF and Pulse-Induction (PI) gold detectors?
VLF (Very Low Frequency) detectors run a single high frequency — for example 45 kHz on the Gold Monster 1000 or 48 kHz on the Goldmaster 24K — which makes them very sensitive to small, shallow gold and more affordable. Pulse-Induction and ZVT machines like the GPX 6000, GPX 5000 and GPZ 7000 sacrifice none of that depth in mineralised soil: they punch through hot, iron-rich ground to find deeper and larger nuggets where VLF detectors become noisy. As a rule: small gold and budget favour VLF; depth in mineralised ground favours PI or ZVT.
