Raw Gold Detectors
Gold detectors are purpose-built machines for finding raw, natural gold — nuggets, fine grains and shallow veins — in the highly mineralised ground of Africa's goldfields. They are tuned very differently from a general-purpose metal detector, because hot, iron-rich, lateritic soils across Sudan, Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger, Chad, Guinea, Senegal and Côte d'Ivoire mask gold and overwhelm ordinary machines.
At AO Gold Detectors we stock the brands that serious prospectors trust. Minelab's pulse-induction and ZVT flagships — the GPZ 7000, the new GeoZVT GPZ 8000, the GPX 6000, GPX 5000 and GPX 4500 — reach the greatest depth in punishing ground, while the rugged, submersible SDC 2300 chases tiny sub-gram nuggets. For high-frequency VLF sensitivity to small gold there is the Gold Monster 1000, the multi-frequency Gold Monster 2000, the triple-frequency Eureka Gold and Garrett's 48 kHz Goldmaster 24K, plus the pulse-induction Garrett Axiom and ATX.
Every unit is genuine, sourced through official channels and backed by manufacturer warranty. Tell us your ground and your budget on WhatsApp — in Arabic, French or English — and we will recommend the right detector for where you dig, not the most expensive one on the shelf.
How to choose
- Match the technology to your gold: VLF machines (Gold Monster 1000, Goldmaster 24K, Eureka Gold) excel on small, shallow nuggets and cost less; Pulse-Induction and ZVT machines (GPX, GPZ, SDC, Axiom, ATX) give far greater depth in heavily mineralised ground.
- Read your ground first: the hotter and more iron-rich the soil, the more a PI or ZVT detector pays off. In severely mineralised West/Central African goldfields, VLF detectors lose stability and depth.
- Size up your target: chasing sub-gram fine gold favours high-frequency VLF or the compact SDC 2300; hunting deep or large nuggets favours the GPX 6000, GPX 5000 or GPZ 7000.
- Weigh portability and ease: the GPX 6000 (2.1 kg) and Axiom (under 2 kg) are light with automatic ground balance; the SDC 2300 folds to 40 cm for travel and is submersible to 3 m.
- Plan for water and dust: if you prospect riverbeds or wet ground, choose a submersible model like the SDC 2300 or ATX and a waterproof coil.
- Buy genuine and ask first: confirm manufacturer warranty and authorised stock, then message us on WhatsApp in your language for a recommendation matched to your ground and budget.
