Accessories

The right accessory turns a good detector into a great one. AO Gold Detectors stocks genuine, warranty-backed add-ons for the machines our prospectors actually use across Sudan, Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger, Chad, Guinea and the wider region — from search coils and chargers to wireless audio and pinpointers.

Search coils are where most upgrades begin. Smaller coils like the Minelab GM 05 5″ Double-D hit small, sub-gram gold in tight, rocky, trashy ground, while the GM 10 10×6″ elliptical and the 11″ Monoloop and Double-D Commander coils (for GPX, GP and SD series) trade off depth, coverage and stability. For the GPZ 7000, the GPZ 19 Super-D adds 53% more search area and reaches deeper, larger nuggets. Coils are model-specific, so matching them to your detector matters.

Beyond coils, we carry genuine Minelab chargers — the BC 10 Li-Ion base charger for the GPZ 7000 and CTX 3030, and the SDC 2300 C-cell charger — plus the WM 12 wireless audio module and the Garrett Pro-Pointer AT for fast, precise target recovery on land and underwater. Every item ships through official channels with manufacturer warranty. Confirm your detector model with us on WhatsApp and we'll recommend the exact fit.

How to choose

  • Match the coil to your detector: GM 05 / GM 10 fit the Gold Monster 1000 & 2000; the 11″ Monoloop and Double-D Commander coils fit GPX, GP and SD series; the GPZ 19 is for the GPZ 7000 only.
  • Match the coil to the target & ground: small coils (5″) maximise sensitivity to tiny gold in tight, rocky, trashy areas; larger coils (10×6″, 19×18″) cover open ground faster and reach deeper, bigger nuggets.
  • Monoloop vs Double-D: Monoloop is more sensitive and deeper in clean goldfields; Double-D runs smoother and discriminates better in trashy, highly mineralised ground.
  • Insist on genuine coils and parts: counterfeit coils underperform and can damage your machine — every coil and charger we sell is authentic and warranty-backed.
  • Add a pinpointer: the Garrett Pro-Pointer AT (IP68, submersible to 6 m) speeds up recovery and saves digging — essential for small gold and beach/water finds.
  • Keep spares: a backup charger (BC 10, SDC 2300) or battery kit and a second coil keep you detecting far from town. Confirm compatibility with us on WhatsApp before you order.

Frequently asked questions

How do I know which coil fits my detector?
Coils are model-specific. The Minelab GM 05 and GM 10 fit the Gold Monster 1000 and 2000; the 11″ Monoloop and Double-D Commander coils fit the GPX, GP and SD series; and the GPZ 19 Super-D is for the GPZ 7000 only. Send us your exact detector model on WhatsApp and we'll confirm the right coil before you buy.
Should I choose a small or a large search coil?
It depends on your target and ground. A small coil like the GM 05 5″ gives maximum sensitivity to small, sub-gram gold and easy access in tight, rocky or trashy ground. A larger coil like the GM 10 10×6″ or the GPZ 19 19×18″ covers open terrain faster and reaches deeper, bigger nuggets. Many prospectors keep both and switch as conditions change.
What is the difference between Monoloop and Double-D coils?
On the Commander coils for GPX, GP and SD detectors, the Monoloop winding is the more sensitive, deeper-reaching choice for clean goldfields, while the Double-D runs smoother and quieter and discriminates better in trashy, highly mineralised ground. If your sites vary, the Double-D is the more forgiving all-rounder; for maximum depth on clean ground, choose the Monoloop.
How can I be sure a coil or charger is genuine, not counterfeit?
Counterfeit coils and chargers are common and they underperform — losing depth and sensitivity — and can even damage your detector. AO Gold Detectors is an authorised dealer: every coil, charger, module and pinpointer we sell is genuine Minelab or Garrett stock sourced through official channels and backed by manufacturer warranty. If a price looks too good elsewhere, it usually is.
Do I really need a pinpointer like the Pro-Pointer AT?
A pinpointer dramatically speeds up recovery once your detector has found a target — it shows you exactly where to dig instead of sifting soil by hand. The Garrett Pro-Pointer AT is fully waterproof (IP68, submersible to 6 m) with three sensitivity levels for small gold, proportional audio and vibration, and an LED light — making it ideal for nugget, coin, relic and beach or water finds. It pairs with any detector.
