Super Scanner V

The Garrett Super Scanner V is the world's most recognised handheld security metal detector. Originally developed for the 1984 Olympic Games, it is trusted today at airports, courthouses, schools, events and checkpoints to screen people for weapons, coins and other metal items. It detects ferrous, non-ferrous and stainless-steel targets, with sensitivity high enough to find a medium knife at about 9 inches and small foil-wrapped items at close range. Digital microprocessor self-calibration removes the need for periodic sensitivity adjustments, so the unit is ready the moment it is switched on, and a large 8-inch scan surface delivers quick, detailed head-to-toe coverage. A momentary push-button temporarily tunes out nearby ambient metal such as rebar or metal walls, while a three-colour LED shows power (green), low battery (amber) and alarm (red). Operators can choose a sharp audible alarm or a silent vibrate alert for discreet screening. The rugged, high-impact ABS case with a reinforced coil compartment exceeds Mil-Std-810F drop-test procedures and operates from -37 °C to 70 °C. It runs up to 100 hours on a single 9 V battery (included, no tools to change) with an optional rechargeable pack, and is backed by a 3-year limited warranty.
