Overview

The Lorenz DeepMax Z1 is a German-engineered pulse-induction detector built to find deep treasure, relics, minerals and raw gold with high accuracy. Its Pulse Ground Balancing System (Pulse GBS) standardises results across difficult ground, so soil salinity, mineralisation and temperature have minimal effect on moist soil, mineralised rock or hard land — letting the Z1 reach depths that defeat many conventional detectors. From the main menu you set search frequency, sensitivity, volume and backlight, then run a quick automatic ground calibration before hunting. The Z1's built-in depth determination and GPS tracking help you log and relocate finds precisely, while its imaging workflow sets it apart: scan a target area, save the data to the supplied USB memory, then transfer it to a laptop running the analytical software to clarify each target and read its type, depth, size and dimensions on 2D and 3D surface maps. Weighing only 1.3 kg, the Z1 powers from an external rechargeable 12 V battery worn on the supplied harness for 5–10 hours of run time. A range of interchangeable coils and deep-search cable frames adapts it to every task — from smaller coils for coins and nuggets up to large frame antennas for the deepest targets. It is backed by a 5-year warranty.

Frequently asked questions

How deep does the Lorenz DeepMax Z1 detect?
Depth depends on the coil and target, but with large frame antennas the pulse-induction Z1 reaches sizeable objects to around 3.8 m, far beyond typical VLF detectors. Smaller coils trade depth for sensitivity to coins and nuggets.
How does the 3D imaging work?
You scan a target area, save the data to the supplied USB memory, then load it into the analytical software on a laptop. The software builds 2D and 3D surface maps that show each target's type, depth, size and dimensions before you dig.
Which search coils can I use with it?
The Z1 accepts a range of interchangeable coils — 26 cm and 35 cm single or Double-D and a 45 cm single coil for coins and nuggets, plus a 1 × 1 m frame coil and larger cable frames that cover up to around 16 m² for the deepest targets.
What is the battery and warranty?
It runs from an external rechargeable 12 V / 7–8 Ah battery carried on the harness, giving roughly 5–10 hours per charge, and it is backed by a 5-year warranty.
