The Minelab Equinox 800 is a waterproof, all-terrain metal detector built on Multi-IQ simultaneous multi-frequency technology. Instead of locking you to one frequency, Multi-IQ transmits several at once and adapts to the target and the ground, outperforming single-frequency VLF machines across coins, relics, jewellery and gold. Four Detect Modes — Park, Field, Beach and Gold — each hold two custom search profiles, giving eight ready presets for land, beach and shallow water. For prospecting, the high single frequencies of 20 and 40 kHz sharpen response to small gold nuggets in mineralised soils, while a 50-segment Target ID and fast recovery keep good targets from being masked by trash. Submersible to 3 m (10 ft) with the 11″ EQX 11 Double-D coil, it sends audio wirelessly through the included WM 08 module and also supports Bluetooth / aptX Low Latency headphones. It weighs just 1.34 kg, runs about 12 hours on its built-in lithium-ion battery, and is backed by a 3-year manufacturer warranty.
