Overview

The BR 100 Pro is BR Systems' long-range locator, built around a Microchip PIC32 controller and a 4.3-inch colour display of 480 × 272 pixels, 16.7 million colours and 400 cd brightness, so the screen stays readable in daylight and at night. Instead of a search coil it works through compact high-gain detection sensors and antennas, and the interface runs in six languages — English, French, German, Spanish, Turkish and Arabic. BR Systems lists four supporting technologies: AGC automatic ground calibration, which the maker says identifies the nature of the search area and calibrates the device to the soil in a few seconds; B.U.M. automatic detection; G.L.Y. laser guidance; and the BRF signal filter, described as clearing interference at the search site. The three search systems are chosen from the menu. The Long-Range Detection System covers gold, raw gold, silver, bronze, copper, aluminium, iron, lead, tin, mercury, diamonds, emeralds, water, voids and caves, plus a custom setting; BR Systems specifies a range of up to 1,000 m and a search depth of up to 30 m for it. The ION Search System targets what the manufacturer calls the ionic domains of gold, silver, bronze, platinum and copper, specified at up to 1,000 m and 20 m deep, while the Magneto Scan System looks for precious and non-precious metals, voids and caves to a stated 16 m. The unit stores six scans, gives audio target alerts, and has adjustable vibration, screen brightness and sound level that it keeps between sessions. It ships complete in a hard case of 530 × 400 × 228 mm weighing 5,030 g all-in, runs 20 continuous hours on its 7,800 mAh 3.7 V Li-ion pack and recharges in 3.5 hours from an 18 W Type-C charger — a package aimed at professional treasure and gold search teams who cover large ground and want a portable unit rather than a swung detector.

Frequently asked questions

What comes in the BR 100 Pro box, and what is optional?
The standard package holds the BR 100 Pro main unit, its detection sensor and two sensor antennas, headphones, the 3.7 V 7,800 mAh Li-ion battery, an 18 W Type-C fast charger, the English user manual and the warranty card, all in a hard case with protective foam. BR Systems also sells high-gain scanning antennas — the Power Max 25 sensor and the Power Max 55 scanner — as separate upgrade accessories compatible with the BR 100 Pro; they are not part of the standard kit.
Is the menu available in Arabic, and what languages does it support?
Yes. The BR 100 Pro interface runs in six languages: English, French, German, Spanish, Turkish and Arabic, selected from the settings menu. The printed user manual supplied in the case is in English. We can walk you through the menu structure and the three search systems in Arabic, French or English before shipping.
How long does the battery last, how is it charged, and what warranty applies?
The unit carries a 7,800 mAh Li-ion pack at 3.7 V. BR Systems states 20 continuous operating hours from a full charge and a recharge time of 3.5 hours using the supplied 18 W USB Type-C fast charger, which is easy to run from a vehicle inverter or power bank in the field. A warranty card is packed with the device; BR Systems states three years of cover on the detector, with some accessories carrying a shorter period.
What kind of ground and terrain is the BR 100 Pro built for?
It is a long-range locator rather than a swung coil detector: you set it up, calibrate and read bearings, which suits open desert, wadis, farmland and rocky ground where large areas have to be narrowed down quickly. BR Systems describes the AGC feature as identifying the nature of the search area and calibrating the device to the soil in a few seconds, and the BRF filter as clearing interference on site. The range and depth figures quoted for the three systems are the manufacturer's own specification.
