BR 20 Pro
Long-range gold and cavity location — the entry model in the BR Systems line.
BR Systems BR 20 Pro is the entry-level long-range locator in the BR Systems line, pairing a single long-range detection system with a Power Max 25 sensor, a 4.3-inch colour display and five selectable target profiles including gold and cavities.
Overview
The BR 20 Pro is the entry point to the BR Systems long-range range. Rather than sweeping a search coil over the ground, it works as a directional locator: the Power Max 25 sensor and its antenna mount on the hand-held unit, and the operator walks the bearing the system reports. A single long-range detection system runs the whole search, which keeps the menu short — you pick a target profile, set how deep and how far you want the system to look, and start. Five target profiles are offered: gold, raw gold nuggets, cavities and caves, precious metals, and a custom setting. BR Systems specifies an adjustable depth setting from 1 to 10 m and an adjustable search radius from 100 to 500 m; those are the manufacturer's published figures. Supporting functions include the maker's B.U.M. automatic detection, G.L.Y. laser guidance for aiming, BRF signal filtering against interference, and AGC automatic ground calibration for the soil at the search site. Operation runs on a Microchip PIC32 processor driving a 4.3-inch colour screen — 480 × 272 pixels, 16.7 million colours, 400 cd brightness — readable in daylight and at night, and the unit stores six scans in memory. The interface is offered in six languages: English, French, German, Spanish, Turkish and Arabic. A 7800 mAh 3.7 V lithium-ion pack is rated by the manufacturer at 20 hours of continuous use and charges in a stated 3.5 hours from the supplied 18 W USB Type-C fast charger. Vibration alerts, adjustable screen brightness and sound level, a clock and a battery percentage are all built in. The assembled device weighs 830 g, and the complete kit packs into a foam-lined, dust-sealed hard plastic case of 530 × 400 × 228 mm at 5,030 g all in. It is aimed at buyers who want a compact, simple directional locator for gold and cavity work rather than a coil-based prospecting machine, and at those covering large open ground where a search area needs narrowing down before detailed detecting begins.
