Overview

The GeoGround Gold Vision is the brand's top gold and treasure instrument, and it works differently from a conventional coil detector. Instead of a VLF or pulse-induction search coil it uses a Smart Sensor probe, a Signal Booster Dish and a pair of RF antennas, all driven from a single hand-held electronic unit. GeoGround specifies six search systems: 3D Ground Scan, which sweeps the Smart Sensor over a marked grid to read changes in the magnetic field and sends the data over Bluetooth to the GeoGround 3D Analyzer app for Android, where it is drawn as a three-dimensional graphical map; Long Range, which works through the RF antennas with selectable soil type, target type and scan distance; Free Mode, for entering an exact search frequency; Smart Depth, which estimates the depth of a located target; and the Ionic and Bionic systems, which respond to ionic fields and let the operator sample a reference metal — a gold coin, for example — so the search leans toward that metal. GeoGround publishes no maximum depth and no maximum scan range for the Gold Vision, and any range figures quoted elsewhere are the manufacturer's or the dealer's claim rather than a published specification. The electronics sit behind a 3.5-inch colour TFT display — 480 × 320 pixels, 65,536 colours, LED backlit — running on a 72 MHz ARM processor with 2 GB of SD storage. Menus are available in eight languages: English, German, Spanish, French, Russian, Italian, Arabic and Persian. Power comes from a built-in, non-removable 9,600 mAh lithium-ion battery charged from a 100–220 V supply at 5 V / 2.5 A, and the unit adds a 3 W speaker with a 3.5 mm headphone socket, a vibration alert, an LED work light and a 650 nm laser pointer. The demountable wireless handle keeps the antennas independent of the display unit. The complete kit — main unit, Smart Sensor, Signal Booster Dish, wireless handle, RF antennas, charger, manual and warranty card — is supplied in a case measuring 400 × 300 × 160 mm at a stated 3,200 g. It is aimed at treasure hunters and prospecting teams who want a search-and-scan system in one case rather than a coil detector, and who work open ground where a scan grid can be laid out.

Key Features

Six search systems specified by GeoGround: 3D Ground Scan, Long Range, Free Mode, Smart Depth, Ionic and Bionic
3D Ground Scan reads magnetic-field changes through the Smart Sensor probe, amplified by the Signal Booster Dish
Bluetooth link to the GeoGround 3D Analyzer app for Android, which draws the scan as a three-dimensional graphical map
Long Range mode works through the RF antennas with selectable soil type, target type and scan distance
Bionic mode samples a reference metal so the search leans toward it; Ionic mode responds to ionic fields, with coloured LEDs on the Smart Sensor
3.5-inch colour TFT display, 480 × 320 pixels and 65,536 colours, driven by a 72 MHz ARM processor with 2 GB SD storage
Built-in 9,600 mAh lithium-ion battery, 3 W speaker with 3.5 mm headphone jack, vibration alert, LED light and 650 nm laser pointer
Eight interface languages — English, German, Spanish, French, Russian, Italian, Arabic and Persian — with user manuals published in five

Frequently asked questions

What is included in the Gold Vision kit?
GeoGround supplies the Gold Vision as a complete kit: the main electronic unit, the Smart Sensor probe, the Signal Booster Dish, the demountable wireless handle unit, the RF antennas, the device charger, the user manual and the warranty card, packed in a case of 400 × 300 × 160 mm. The manufacturer also lists the main unit, Smart Sensor, wireless handle, RF antenna, charger, Signal Booster Dish and carry bag as individually available spare parts, so any of them can be replaced without buying a second kit. Talk to us before ordering if you want spares held alongside the device.
Does the interface support Arabic, and what app do I need for the 3D scan?
Yes. The Gold Vision menus run in eight languages — English, German, Spanish, French, Russian, Italian, Arabic and Persian — and GeoGround publishes the user manual in English, Arabic, German, French and Spanish. The 3D Ground Scan results are read on a phone or tablet through the free GeoGround 3D Analyzer app for Android, which pairs with the device over Bluetooth. The app is a separate download and the phone or tablet is not part of the kit.
How is the Gold Vision powered and charged?
The Gold Vision has a built-in 9,600 mAh lithium-ion battery that is not user-removable, charged with the supplied charger from a 100–220 V, 50/60 Hz supply at 5 V / 2.5 A. GeoGround does not publish a figure for hours of use per charge. The unit is rated for 0–40 °C operation and no waterproof or IP rating is claimed, so keep it dry and out of standing rain.
What ground does it suit, and how deep does GeoGround say it reaches?
The 3D Ground Scan system is designed for open, workable ground where a scan grid can be pegged out and walked in straight parallel lines, while the Long Range system is used to sweep larger areas from a fixed position with the soil type, target type and scan distance selected in the menu. On depth, GeoGround's own specification table publishes no maximum depth and no maximum scan range for the Gold Vision; the figures circulated for this class of device come from manufacturers and dealers rather than from a published GeoGround specification, and we report them only on that basis.
