Overview

The GER Detect Titan X13 is the German brand's top multi-system search station, and the part of it you will use most is genuine, testable hardware. A 17-inch pulse-induction search coil mounts on the shaft-and-armrest assembly and drives four PI modes: General Scanning for deep metal, a Discrimination mode whose indicator swings green for precious metals and red for non-precious, a Cavity Scanning mode for caves, cellars, tunnels and catacombs, and Direct 3D Analyzing. Automatic ground balancing (the Tune button) calibrates the coil against damp soil, mineralised rock and salted ground, while sensitivity, magnification factor and filtering are adjusted from the touch screen. On realistic ground a coil of this class reaches roughly 40 cm on a coin-sized object and around 2 m on a large buried mass — those are the numbers worth planning a search around. The coil itself is waterproof to 100 cm; the main unit is weatherproof only, not submersible. Alongside the coil, the kit carries a magnetometer unit that is swept 2–5 cm above the ground and separates ferrous or magnetised metal (red indicator) from voids such as caves, tunnels and archaeological tombs (blue indicator), plus an EMF unit with its own coils that runs both a direct scan and a gridded 3D imaging scan: you set the number of lines and steps, walk them parallel or zig-zag at roughly 30 cm spacing, and the supplied tablet builds a colour-coded 3D picture — red for metal, green for soil, yellow for mineral salts, dark blue for cavities, light blue for the rock around them — which can be saved as an image or a data file. On top of that, GER Detect lists long-range modes for gold and precious metals, diamonds and gemstones, an ionic mode, and a custom-frequency mode accepting 1,000–55,000 Hz; for those the manufacturer specifies coverage up to 3,000 m², a forward range of 3,000 m and depth up to 60 m, and we publish those figures as GER Detect states them rather than as our own measurement. Two full-colour capacitive touch screens run in Arabic, English, German, French, Spanish and Persian with soil-type and continent presets, two Li-ion packs (54 Wh and 27 Wh) power the system, and the whole kit travels in two hard cases. GER Detect states CE and ISO 9001 certification and warrants the main unit for two years.

How deep does the GER Detect Titan X13 actually detect?
There are two answers and it is worth knowing both. The 17-inch pulse-induction coil is real, testable hardware: on typical ground expect roughly 40 cm on a coin-sized object and around 2 m on a large buried mass, varying with soil, target size and orientation. For the long-range and ionic modes, GER Detect specifies up to 3,000 m forward range and 60 m depth; those are the manufacturer's published figures for a search technique that depends heavily on operator technique and ground conditions, and we quote them as stated rather than as a guarantee. Plan your dig around the coil, the magnetometer and the EMF scan.
What does the included tablet actually do?
It is the imaging screen for two systems. In Direct 3D Analyzing you pair the tablet to the main unit, then pass the pulse-induction coil over a target twice — once in each direction — and the app returns a 3D render of the object with a ferrous or non-ferrous reading and its depth. In 3D EMF Imaging you first set a grid of lines and steps, walk it parallel or zig-zag pressing the shutter every 30 cm, and the app builds a colour-coded cross-section of the ground: red for metal, green for soil, yellow for mineral salts, dark blue for cavities and light blue for surrounding rock. A Targets button lists confirmed targets with position and depth, and every survey can be saved as an image or a data file for later comparison.
Can I test the long-range and ionic modes by burying gold myself?
No, and the manufacturer says so plainly in the manual. GER Detect states that ionic fields only form around metals that have lain underground for several years or formed naturally, so gold that is above ground or recently buried will not respond in ionic mode — the same caveat applies to the long-range antennas. If you want a same-day, repeatable check of the kit, use the pulse-induction coil, the magnetometer unit or the EMF direct scan. Those three respond to metal immediately, and they are the parts of the Titan X13 you can verify for yourself before you take it into the field.
What is in the kit, how long does it run, and what does the warranty cover?
The Titan X13 ships as a complete station in two hard cases: main unit and handle, shaft with armrest, the 17-inch pulse-induction coil, the EMF unit and its coils, the magnetic search unit, the ionic unit, the long-range unit with its antenna set, a tablet with holder, two Li-ion packs, a mains charger and a car charger. GER Detect lists roughly 10 hours from the 54 Wh BT500 pack and 15 hours from the 27 Wh BT250, so a spare is always on hand. The manufacturer warranty covers the main unit against technical defects for two years; batteries, charger, tablet and accessory parts are excluded, as is damage from drops, impacts or tampering.
